In May, Harry’s the Neighborhood Place celebrated their 50th anniversary! Throughout their month-long celebration, Harry’s chose various non-profits in our community to give back to, one of them being the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to Harry’s the Chamber’s scholarship fund received a donation of $590.
The Chamber recognizes the importance of continuing education and life-long learning. WCCCC offers two scholarships, one academic and one trade scholarship. The academic scholarship is for a graduating senior, in our community, who is going on to pursue a certificate, license, two-year or four-year degree from a university. The trades scholarship will assist a student attending a career and technical school who will pursue a trade degree/certificate in an industry or enter directly into the trades workforce.
At the close of every school year, the Chamber awards two students a $2,000 scholarship. WCCCC’s goal is to continue to grow our scholarship. Many events throughout the year help to benefit the scholarship program, such as our Member Extravaganza, Golf Outing, and Annual Dinner. Harry’s kind donation to support our scholarship fund supports not only our young adults entering school and the workforce, but our community as a whole.
John H. Lymberis, second-generation owner of Harry’s, said, “This contribution is a testament to our belief in the incredible work you do and the positive impact you have on our region of Chester County. Thank you for your commitment, hard work, and unwavering dedication. It is because of organizations like yours that we can build a stronger community.”
Thank you to Harry’s the Neighborhood Place! Here’s to the next 50 years and beyond.
