WCCCC held the 24th Annual Municipal Update Luncheon this November at G.A. Vietri, Inc. in Coatesville.
The event, presented by Pennsylvania American Water, was our biggest yet, with municipal leaders, community advocates, business owners, and elected officials in attendance.
The Caln Township update was provided by Don Vymaza.
- 220 apartments and 200 townhomes going up on 322.
- 175 units are going in the Hills of Thorndale Woods.
- 100 units are going on the Cohen property, right off Lincoln Highway.
- The Willows opened a couple weeks ago, which is the largest affordable housing complex in Chester County. It is now almost completely filled.
- The township has spent $4.5 million in stormwater improvements to date, with another $3.5 million planned for 2025.
- The township is building Beaver Creek Trail to connect Downingtown into Caln.
- Worked with Chester Valley Trail expansion and some roadway improvement on Lincoln Highway.
- Farmhouse Cafe is submitting land development plans along Lincoln Highway.
- The Township owns 150 acres off Kings Highway and will be using it for the 250th anniversary, as well as utilizing the farmhouse that is on the property, which dates back to 1776.
